Maria A. Papalexi

Maria is a dual qualified lawyer (Greece and England & Wales) and has extensive experience in the full spectrum of commercial shipping matters from inception to closing. She has been advising a number of leading international and Greek banks as well as Greek and foreign ship-owning groups in ship finance and sale & purchase transactions, such as loan facility agreements, sale & leaseback, restructurings, loan transfers, MOAs, novation agreements, shipbuilding contracts and settlement agreements involving multiple jurisdictions.

Maria joined Timagenis Law Firm in 2021. Before joining our firm, she worked for over 10 years as a Ship Finance Associate in the Piraeus branch of a major International law firm practicing mainly English law.

Previously, she had also worked in a renowned City law firm in London, where she qualified as a Solicitor, practicing mainly Industrial and intellectual property and competition law. She has also completed internships in UNESO in Paris and the European Court of Justice in Luxemburg.
