Smaragda has joined the Firm as a trainee lawyer well before her admission to the Bar and she has acquired considerable experience in the Firm’s corporate and finance department, specializing in the maritime, financial and banking sectors. She has a particular focus on corporate law transactions, corporate structure and formation, compliance, restructuring and ongoing corporate governance of mainly overseas shipowning, holding and managing companies, and she also assists clients in issues arising in the day to day running of their business. Smaragda has a significant experience in a variety of finance and real estate transactions and she has, in particular, participated in negotiating, drafting and structuring loan and security documentation, corporate documentation, as well as documentation relating to the sale, purchase and operation of vessels.
Smaragda is also gaining experience in areas of contentious legal work by participating in various projects concerning the drafting of legal actions before the civil and administrative courts and authorities of the country and of out-of-court settlements between international parties.
Smaragda in addition to her practice as a lawyer is the captain to a women soccer team (participating to the National Women Championship in Greece).
