Timagenis Law Firm acted as local counsel in Greece to J.F. Lehman & Co. (a leading middle-market private equity firm focused exclusively on the defense, aerospace and maritime sectors) on the acquisition of a Greek subsidiary of Ashland Inc. (NYSE:ASH)

Timagenis Law Firm acted as special Greek counsel to Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd. (NYSE:EXM), and owner and operator of dry bulk carriers and a provider of worldwide seaborne transportation services for dry bulk cargoes, for the public offering of shares of its common stock.

Timagenis Law Firm acted as special Greek counsel to the Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE:DSX), a global shipping company specializing in the transportation of dry bulk cargoes, for the public offering of shares of its common stock.

In January 2009 and following Ministerial Decision issued by the Minister of Mercantile Marine, Mr. Anastasis Papaligouras, Dr. Gregory Timagenis was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of NAT (the Greek Seamen's Pension Fund). Dr. Timagenis had also served as Chairman of NAT during the years 1989-1995.

The Hellenic Chamber of Shipping (HCS) organized a seminar on Maritime Arbitration. The seminar took place under the chairmanship of the President of HCS, Mr. George Gratsos, on 11 December 2008.

The University of the Aegean, Department of Shipping Trade and Transport, on the Island of Chios organized a two-day congress between 9-10 May 2008.

Timagenis Law Firm acted as global legal advisors to Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd. (NYSE: EXM) on the acquisition of Quintana Maritime Limited (NASDAQ:QMAR), a combination of cash and stock deal overall worth US$ 2.45 Billion in enterprise value, making it the largest M&A deal in the history of dry bulk industry.

Timagenis Law Firm acted on behalf of two Greek companies specialized in the protection of the marine environment and in pollution cleaning operations in a claim against the International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund (IOPC Fund) in connection with the recovery of the pollution cleaning compensation.

Our Firm acted as Greek counsel to Globus Maritime Limited (www.globusmaritime.gr) and its shareholders in connection with the corporate structure and the IPO for its listing with AIM (GLBS), the alternative market of the London Stock Exchange, in June 2007. Globus Maritime is the first Greek interests shipping company listed with AIM through an IPO and our Firm is the only Greek Law Firm having experience with AIM.

easyCruise started its cruises in Greece as of 18th May 2007. Our Firm has acted as their Greek counsel for the legal planning and organization of the operation since October 2006.

Our Firm acted for the Buyers of 25% of the Greek TV Station SKAI TV.

In New York, on March 23rd 2007, Capital Link organized a Forum about “Investing in International Shipping”. Dr. and Mrs. Timagenis attended the Forum along with a wide range of participants, investors and industrial managerial staff.

Our Firm acted for FBBank in a complex refinancing of the ferry operator NEL, which gave an end to a widely publicized earlier dispute of the parties.

On December 8th 2006 the ceremony for the third annual Lloyd's List Greek Shipping Awards took place in Athens. The awards were organized by the daily maritime newspaper "Lloyd's List" to reward the Greek Shipping Community achievements that deserve recognition, in various categories.

In March 2006 our Firm acted for the en bloc acquisition and financing of a fleet of seven (7) tug boats in a M+A deal with complex structure and legal issues involved.

Our Firm acted as counsel to Deutsche Schiffsbank AG as agent to the Lenders in a syndicated loan of $ 257,000,000 to Capital Maritime & Trading Corp. for the financing and refinancing of thirteen (13) vessels and newbuildings.

Our Firm acted for the Buyers in the acquisition of the daily newspaper "Eleftheros Typos" (Free Press) which took place on 13 July 2006. The transfer was considered a major event for the press and received extensive coverage from the media.
